FILM POSTER ANALYSIS:
Million Dollar Baby:
The Female character seems to be the protagonist of the film and this is indicated through her being in the centre of the poster.
Her defined muscles and stern face suggests she is not the typical hyperfeminine female. The two other characters seems to to play an important role too, most-likely for guidance and influence.
The genre of this move appears to be sports drama. The demographic target audience is young adults, those who are around the age of the protagonists so they can relate.
Sin city:
The character in the centre is shown twice within the poster to emphasise his importance as a protagonist. The gun connotes a sense of danger and foretells the image of violence in the film. The long black leather coat makes him seem deathly and has antagonist-like traits. The rain foreshadows that there will be destruction and chaos similar to what the multiple guns connotes in the poster. The genre of the movie is action/thriller and the target audience is young adult/adult.
Pirates of the Caribbean:
There is more use of colours in this poster tells us that this movie has a more light-hearted/comedical aspect to it. Due to this iconography of ships, bandannas and skulls, we know the genre is fantasy/fiction.
Since this is a Walts destiny movie, therefore it is suitable for everyone but also appropriate for view of children.
Bride and Prejudice:
This movie is a parody version of the film 'pride and prejudice' by Jane Austen.
The film genre is seems to be a romantic comedy with fusion of Bollywood and Hollywood style. this is indicated through the backdrop of Taj Mahal and the skyscrapers/palm trees. The blue sky and the confetti thrown in the air also demonstrates the feel of the movie which light and comedical. The movie seems to focus the difference in values and beliefs between cultures in terms of marriage.
Scary Movie 2:
First of all, this movie is a sequel therefore we know it has generated a level of success and already has an audience. The genre of this movie is parody/ comedical horror. As we can see in the poster, they use a lot of character from previous movies as the black cat and the maze. This tells us that they will use a lot of plots and influences from other movies. The exaggerated expressions tells us not take the movie seriously.
The poster is of a man standing in a deserted place. this gives the poster a grunge kind of look. We can infer that this is a place he is familiar with and he may hold some type of relation to. The genre of this movie is drama as it mostly an antidote of his life. the misty and gloomy background foreshadows tragic events. The title of the movie 'uzak' tells us that it is a foreign film therefore we expect maybe some culture shock.
